Join us for an amazing afternoon snorkeling in La Jolla. Our expert snorkel guides ensure your comfort and safety in the water, while also showing you all the amazing animals in our oceans. After a briefing on equipment and techniques, we provide you with all necessary gear: a wetsuit to keep you warm, a mask for you to see, a snorkel to breathe underwater, and fins to kick around. If you can confidently swim but have never snorkeled before, this is a great introductory experience.


Sea lions live in La Jolla year round, giving birth to pups during the winter seasons. They haul up on the rocks just off the beach of La Jolla Cove and interact with swimmers, snorkelers, scuba divers, and anyone else sharing their home. Although a little clumsy on land, the sea lions shine underwater. With powerful fins and beautifully streamlined bodies, they’ll show off their elegance with acrobatic flips and spins as they pass by underwater.


While snorkeling La Jolla Cove we’ll also see plenty of Garibaldi (California’s state fish), as well zebra perch, opal eye and groups of curious calico bass. If we have time we’ll even snorkel around the bend and take a peek at the seven sea caves (if conditions permit).
